Akron Used Cars For Sale

Akron Used Cars

The Jaguar has its roots in the Swallow Sidecar Company, which was founded in England in 1922 by Bill Lyons and William Walmsley. It wouldn't be until 1935, though, that the first automobile with the Jaguar name would be offered to the public.  The 40s and 50s really saw the Jaguar take off in popularity around the world, even in cities like Akron in the United States. Some of Jaguar's most recognizable models were created in the 1970s.

The 80s were hard on Jaguar as they were with a lot of other auto companies around the world. To help with selling Jaguars in American cities like Akron, the company was purchased by Ford Motor Company in 1990. During the next decade, Ford poured a lot of money and effort into the Jaguar, releasing the XK8 and XKR Sports cars. Both these models were big hits with consumers, helping the company financially, at least for a little bit.

Ford made a bad move and decided to try to release a 'cheaper' Jaguar based on the Ford sedan. This had really poor sales, though, leading Ford to sell Jaguar in 2008 to an Indian company. Jaguar is still around as a brand, but only time will tell if they're able to survive the world marketplace for cars and trucks. The good news is that there are a lot of great used Jaguars on the market, even in places like Akron.
